Hello. I am Nadin Novoa, a silver metal clay jewelry artist inspired by nature and animals. I am glad you are here visiting my website and silver collections!
Let me tell you a little bit about me.
How I got started…
Making silver jewelry started as rehabilitation after having severe damage to my hand’s nerves after a major surgery. A few days after surgery, I realized that I couldn’t move nor feel anything in my right hand! I refused to lose my hand, and I was willing to work very hard to get it back. So I started making jewelry as part of my rehabilitation.
After a while, I decided to start my website and begin selling my designs. I knew, that everything I would do, had to be done with a real purpose and to help the world somehow.
Artistic Jewelry, Spreading Nature Awareness/ Recycled Silver
My designs are my creativity and my need to make art. Making jewelry is a form of art expression that is coming through my soul. My inspiration is nature and animals. I care deeply about them and make my jewelry with them in mind. I have learned that sadly everything leaves a footprint, but we can do things to try to reduce the impact, improve and inspire others of change in what we do.
I have chosen to work silver metal clay as a medium because the silver I use comes in a recyclable form. The process of working with it is also recyclable, as I can re-do and re-constitute it at different phases of my design; Allowing me to make sustainable and eco-friendly silver jewelry for you.
I believe that you are a jewelry ambassador talking on nature’s behalf because jewelry also inspires and can promote awareness in other people. I hope that if one day someone admires your jewelry, you will take it as an opportunity to talk about it and help it in some way.
In my blog, I also try to share knowledge about nature and animals. I believe that the more we know, the more we appreciate them and understand what is at stake.
My goal is to give you something that you love that is handmade and artistic, but especially something that was made meaningfully and with essence. Giving back is really important to me, so my other goal is to give a portion of my sales to animal and nature non-profits every Giving Tuesday.
If you are interested in where I am from…
I currently live and design my fine silver jewelry in Alexandria, VA, but I am a native of Quito, Ecuador. My parents are Chilean, so I have yet another culture to enjoy. I have also lived in South Africa and Tanzania. All of them are beautiful culturally and geographically! I embrace diversity and different cultures and allow their beauty to help inspire my pieces.
